Similar to this iconic reference to Mad Men above, my project is the collision of television and advertising. Based on the concept of native advertising and inspired by both Friends and How I Met Your Mother, I have created a longform article about the actualities of life in New York City for young adults in their twenties. Though Netflix sadly does not actually sponsor my work, for the purposes of this project, that is the brand I am representing. By changing the conversation to the harsh realities of New York, hopefully readers will want to escape to the happy fictional world of television.
